What kinds of coffee shops do you work with?
We work with coffee businesses at different stages and sizes, from independent cafés to multi-location companies. Whether you're trying to solve a specific operational challenge, strengthen an established business, or figure out what comes next, we'll help you identify the support that makes the most sense for where you are today.
What areas of my café business can you help with?
We look at the whole business—not just one piece of it. That can include your financials, labor, menu strategy, operations, team structure, hiring and training, sales, systems, and long-term goals. Sometimes the problem you notice first isn't actually the problem that needs to be solved first.
Do I need ongoing consulting, or can I get help with one specific problem?
You don't have to commit to a large consulting engagement to work with us. Depending on what you need, the right next step might be a focused coaching session, a class or resource, or a more comprehensive consulting relationship. We'll help you determine what makes sense rather than selling you more support than you need.
What happens when I reach out to The Cafe Operator?
Start by telling us a little about your business and what you're working through. We'll learn more about where you are, what you're trying to accomplish, and where you're getting stuck. From there, we'll help point you toward the most appropriate next step—whether that's education, a focused conversation, or more hands-on support.
Is consulting too expensive for my café?
One-on-one consulting is a higher-priced service, and we know firsthand what it's like to run a business when cash is tight. We'll always be mindful of your budget and recommend what makes the most sense, whether that's a focused coaching session, an ongoing consulting agreement, or a virtual class covering exactly what you need.
Will you understand my specific café and business?
Every café has different people, goals, challenges, and resources. Our guidance is built around your actual business, not a one-size-fits-all playbook. We want your dreams to come true—for your business and for yourself.
Do I need to clean up my business before working with you?
Please don't. We've seen it all, and helping sort through the mess is exactly what we do. We'll roll up our sleeves, meet you where you are, and work through it with you without judgment.
Can The Cafe Operator actually help my business?
We look beyond surface-level problems to understand what's happening with your finances, operations, and people. Then we help you identify the right priorities and make changes that work in real life. If we aren't the right people to help, we'll be honest about that too.
